Commissioned Officer through 156 PMA Long Course

Eligibility Criteria:

• Education Requirements:
  • Intermediate (FA/FSc) or Equivalent – Minimum 55% Marks
  • 2 Years Graduation – Minimum 60% Marks (with 50% in FA/FSc)
  • 4 Years Graduation (BS/BA(H)/BBA/BPA) – Same as above
  • Serving Army Soldiers – Minimum 50% Marks in FA/FSc
  • A-Level students require Equivalence Certificate from IBCC with 55% aggregate
• Age Limits (as on Nov 01, 2025):
  • Intermediate or Equivalent: 17 – 22 Years (Relaxable by 3 months)
  • 2-Year Graduates & Serving Navy/PAF Personnel: 17 – 23 Years (Relaxable by 3 months)
  • 4-Year Graduates: 17 – 24 Years (No Relaxation)
  • Serving Army Soldiers: 17 – 25 Years (No Relaxation)

Documents Required:

• Original and attested copies of:
  • Matric and Intermediate/Equivalent Certificates
  • CNIC or B-form with guardian’s CNIC
  • 3x passport size photographs attested front and back
  • ISSB “Not Recommended” letter for repeaters
• Hope Certificate (if applicable)
• Character and Declaration Form (verified by Gazetted Officer)

Preliminary Selection Process

1. Written/Intelligence Test:
   • Includes Verbal, Non-Verbal, English & Urdu Essays
2. Medical Examination
3. Physical Test (Minimum Standards):
   • 1.6 Km Run: 8 minutes
   • Push-ups: 15 in 2 minutes
   • Crunches: 20 in 2 minutes
   • Pull-ups: 3 in 2 minutes
   • Ditch Crossing: 7’4” x 7’4” ditch
4. Interview by Selection Board:
   • Marks out of 20; at least 12 needed to qualify

Ineligibility Conditions:

• Twice rejected by ISSB
• Three-time failure in initial academic/intelligence tests
• Dismissed/removed from Government or Armed Forces jobs
• Declared medically unfit permanently (including Hepatitis B/C)
• Withdrawn/resigned from Armed Forces academies on disciplinary/medical grounds
• Tampering with academic records or positive drug test
• Appeared in ISSB within last 120 days (unless waiver granted)

Coaching for ISSB is discouraged; it affects natural evaluation and may cause rejection.

Further Selection Process:

• Final selection based on merit at General Headquarters (GHQ) after ISSB and medical clearance
• Training duration at PMA Kakul: 2 Years
